Janet Parker

Janet Parker was an Executive Vice President of Corporate Human Resources with Regions Bank in Birmingham until she retired in 2018. During her tenure at the bank, Parker led a team of HR professionals and advised executives about senior-level talent acquisition, onboarding, associate relations, talent management, associate engagement, goal setting, performance management, leadership development, compensation, and incentive management and development. She led and took part in merger strategies for two major mergers. Janet was a member of the Senior Leaders group which was made up of the top 100 leaders at the bank.
She started her human resources career in various HR roles at small and medium-sized organizations in nonprofit, insurance, and manufacturing. She also served as the Chief Global Membership Officer for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Janet holds a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, and is a graduate of the American Banking Institution’s Graduate Human Resources School. She has a Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification.
Janet is currently the President of the board of directors for the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, she is a manuscript reviewer for the Organizational Dynamics Journal and is a mentor for the Mentoring Emerald Coast program. She was previously involved with the following committees and Boards: Alabama Career and Technical Advisory Committee, Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) Board of Directors, Chair of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) national Board of Directors, and chair of the Workplace Subcommittee for the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy which was established by George W. Bush.
