Charles is the founder and CEO of Human Resource Management, Inc., a boutique consultancy specializing in human resource management compliance and administrative services. The firm currently serves clients in 28 states from its corporate offices located in Birmingham, Alabama. Charles has over 30 years of experience in the Human Resources field with an emphasis on Compensation, Affirmative Action Plan Development, and Federal Contractor Compliance. His background in Compensation includes market pricing, custom compensation, and benefits surveys, job evaluation, pay equity analyses, and pay policy and procedure development. His consulting with Federal Contractors includes affirmative action plan development, OFCCP audit preparation and management, compliance audits, compensation analyses, and compliance training. Prior to founding Human Resource Management, Inc. in 1999, Charles was Vice President, Director of Human Resources, at Colonial Bank, a subsidiary of Colonial BancGroup, Inc., for ten years. Charles is a founding member and current President of the Alabama Industry Liaison Group (ALILG), a coalition of federal contractors committed to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, and Board Chairman of the Alabama Business Leadership Network (ALBLN), whose mission is to collaborate with businesses to increase the employment of individuals with disabilities. Charles is a past president of the Birmingham Society for Human Resource Management (BSHRM). In 2018, Charles was appointed by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey and confirmed by the Alabama Senate to serve on the Board of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, representing business and industry on the seven-member board. A graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Charles holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
